YAL Lent Retreat

The Metropolis of Detroit Young Adult Ministries is excited to announce that the Young Adult Lenten Retreat will be held at Holy Dormition Monastery in Rives Junction, Michigan on Saturday, March 14th. The Abbess, Mother Gabriella, in her love and hospitality welcomes us all for a day of rest and discussion on the salvific nature of suffering within the book of Job. Mother Gabriella will give a warm welcome and share few words on the spiritual life.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Michael Legaspi, Old Testament Professor of St. Vladimir's Seminary. He is currently working on a research project on the book of Job and will offer great insight on this OT figure which can help us navigate our Lenten journey. 

The retreat will take place from 11am to 3pm. Though, arrival at 9am is strongly encouraged if you wish to attend Divine Liturgy. There will be plenty of time at the end of the day for questions and exploring the monastery grounds. 

The retreat will consist of three talks with refreshments and lunch:

-Overview of Job
-Nature of Suffering
-Meeting God in Suffering
